'Pure nonsense, pure wisdom of someone who knows nothing.'

Eighteen. Happily on my way to being a cat woman with never musty books and pancakes for breakfast. Everyday, really.

Just read: The Lover’s Dictionary, David Levithan.

I love this book, and the way it’s laid out. The environment concerned part of me wept at the waste of paper, though - love, n. I won’t even try. And then the page number changes.

Now reading : Piano Teacher, Janice Lee.
Toni Morrison’s Jazz, which was the last book I read, was brilliant. I think she’s a writer in the true, true sense of the word. The foreword to the edition I have made me realize just how much hands-on work and research is involved in writing. The entire book is structured around the the rhythm of jazz. The remarkable thing about Morrison is that as a reader, I am awed by the work and the reading experience even before it begins; I look at her lines and words and am struck by the perfection of it all, about how her words belong on the page just right where they are. The theme and issues she explores are gorgeous; she blends in the odd soliloquy, the curses and absence of punctuation where it’s needed. It isn’t a book you can curl up with; it’s a book you sit straight with, and read a chapter, and then sit back, use your bookmark and think over the splendor and weight of it all. I’d recommend it, for those who’re willing to give a page of words its due worth.

Reading Jazz by Toni Morrison.

The last book I read, Three Junes by Julia Glass, was a decent read. I usually feel more involved with books than I did with this one - I found that I wasn’t rooting for or believing in any character, except perhaps Fenno in the end, and Lil. The book is well-written; I think the voice and words used by Julia Glass aren’t really to my taste. It just might be your read though, so I wouldn’t not recommend reading it. Happy reading!
